Additional thoughts since Atlanta

A few thoughts have occurred to me since our time together in Atlanta. Please know that I am open to counsel and dialogue. 1. That Covenant is one of the larger churches of the Church of God only requires more of me, without additional privilege--more accountability and responsibility for other pastors of smaller churches. 2. Though we may constitute a significant part of the tithes and missions sent to General Headquarters at the end of the day----One Vote Per Bishop Determines The Day! Prudence encourages movement that "leaves no Bishop left behind"--to borrow a phrase from the educational system. 3. Discussion of the future of the Church of God must always be in context of respecting the integrity of other leaders, i.e., insuring that any discussion affecting their future is privy to them with vested right to speak from their perspective. 4. If the Church of God is facing challenging times, we did not arrive at such a point by happenstance, nor in a short time. The challenge is endemic in the system. 5. If the Church of God is God's church, salvation will not come from one, a few, nor many of us. Salvation will come from prayer, humility, and the hand of the Lord. We are only instruments. None of the above is meant to be presumptuous. I have not heard anything since Atlanta. These are thoughts shared with an openness to discussion.Prayerfully,Pastor BarePhilippians 4:8
